Friday, May 1, 2026 from 5:30pm-6:45pm
with Victoria Rutledge at PYP DOWNTOWN
Maine’s primary elections are coming up on June 9th! This May, we are coming together to talk about the different platforms for each candidate. We will discuss how we can use voting as one of many political tools in our arsenal. Highlighting the need for continuous imperfect political action, we will explore how we are processing this political moment, and what it means to show up for a government that rarely seems to be functioning for the support of our greater population, especially the most vulnerable among us.
Come prepared to learn and engage, chat with fellow members, and take some deep breathing moments to coregulate together!
This event is FREE and open to ALL! Please register below so we can know how many to expect!

Action Event with Through These Doors
Friday, January, 16, 2026 from 5:30pm-6:45pm
with Victoria Rutledge and Mary at PYP DOWNTOWN
This January, join Victoria and Mary from through these doors as we host another action event at our downtown location. When the social services experience dramatic reductions in funding both nationally and here in Maine, domestic violence and interpartner violence rise as well. It is now more important than ever that we have the skills to recognize coercive and abusive dynamics and prepare ourselves to be safe community members when we are called on for support.
At this event, we will come up with a working definition of what we mean when we talk about DV, highlight the resources and work that Through These Doors offers to members of the Cumberland County Community, and role play how to receive and support someone that discloses to you. We will end our session by writing post cards that will be distributed directly to survivors of violence. As always, we will weave in moments of reflection and movement as we hold the heaviness of this topic together.
This event is FREE and open to ALL! Please register below so we can know how many to expect!

Jordan Kendall Parks Studio - Through interactive outdoor exhibitions and site-specific installations, Jordan encourages people to engage with their surroundings, find a sense of adventure and discover art along the way. On a smaller scale, Jordan commonly uses woodcut and linoleum monoprint processes to create visuals that are heavily influenced by our relationship with the natural world and each other. JKP Studio brings these messages into the home through block printed fine art, clothing and homegoods. Jordan's art is both a celebration of these moments and a tool to advocate for climate and social justice.
Twin Flame Closet - Twin Flame is the passion project of three friends who care deeply about combating fast fashion consumerism and helping people hone their personal style through secondhand shopping. We love the anthropology of style, and have fun styling our pieces in different ways. Our mission is to convince our shoppers that being stylish doesn’t have to be expensive or unsustainable: secondhand clothing is the future of fashion. Everything we need is already here!

Jessica Roth - Jessica has a collection of hobby-based creations including block prints on cards and clothing, water color and acrylic paintings, pottery and little bit of jewelry for those that like beads and sea glass. She’s a big fan of landscapes and natural things.
Kelley Voegelin Art - Kelley Voegelin graduated from Syracuse University in 2005 with a Bachelor's in Fine Art & Illustration. Her work focuses on the interplay of line, color & texture by layering various paints with collage & drawing. She is inspired by both nature & cities, the body & the rawness of being human.
Hale Linnet - Hale Linnet is a white, trans-nonbinary figurative painter and sculptor based in Maine, whose socially conscious work centers bodily autonomy, gender, pleasure, and self-excavation. Hale holds a degree in Public Health, and brings a background in community organizing and abortion access advocacy into their creative practice, approaching artmaking as both personal inquiry and collective care. Through paint, sculpture, and collaboration, their work seeks to elevate the body—especially the trans body—as a site of liberation work, transformation, and connection.
Often working in partnership with others, Hale creates community-driven projects as a cofounder of the trans artist collective Brazen Bandits, which gathers people together to make art, share grief/joy, and build solidarity through creative practice. Hale has received grants from the Maine Arts Commission and the National Endowment for the Arts for collaborative sculpture installations honoring the diverse lived experiences of menstruating bodies.
They live in South Portland and work out of their studio at Space538 in downtown Portland. Beyond the studio, Hale teaches trauma-informed yoga to youth and works with unhoused teens.
Emmett’s Plants - Emmett is PYP’s resident plant janitor and can be seen in the back row of every yin class. Their specialties are rescue plants and happy accidents. Phoebe Harris - Phoebe Harris is a contemporary Maine-born artist currently living in Portland. Her work draws upon the delicate interplay between memory, materiality, and the natural world. Her practice spans a variety of media, most notably painting, where she constructs vibrant, emotionally resonant compositions with subtle layers of narrative. At the core of Phoebe’s work is an exploration of loss, connection, and the challenges of our time, informed by a deep sensitivity to the natural world and the ephemera of everyday life.
Phoebe will be selling a selection of upcycled and hand painted wearables at the PYP holiday market.
Annie Lufkin of New England Animal Sanctuary - Hi! My name is Annie Lufkin and I will be selling merchandise at the holiday market to raise funds for New England Animal Sanctuary, a 501(c)3 non-profit I founded in Buxton, Maine. NEAS is a farm animal sanctuary with a focus on rescue, social advocacy and education.
Lauren O’Brien Art - Lauren is a self-taught artist, though she attributes her early artistic inspiration to her mom, who is an artist and regularly introduced Lauren and her siblings to art/crafts early in life. Today, Lauren is inspired by peoples’ stories, struggles, and raw emotions — the unique and the universal. Traveling regularly for work, she’s found beauty in the shared human experience that connect us all. Beyond her art (but influencing it), she is a facilitator and connector; curious about and working towards equitable and durable solutions at the nexus of environmental sustainability, food justice, and human rights/dignity — especially among the misunderstood, cast aside, and often-passed-over.
She plays with different mediums, but lately has been drawn to the simplicity of single-line drawings. Her other work includes ink+paint+cyanotype and charcoal+acrylic paint.
Newer to the market scene, she carries a bit of imposter syndrome in declaring herself an artist, but is excited to share some of her work with you at PYP!
Carly Rice Seaweed Serums - This seaweed serum is made with minimal ingredients, locally harvested seaweed that is primed and extracted without using any heat to keep all the healing juices intact. People are obsessed with this serum! It’s incredibly nourishing for dry skin, acne, burns or skin irritation. Seaweed is magic!
Salt & Moon Healing Arts - At Salt and Moon Healing Arts I blend activism, healing and snark into radical handmade art. As a trauma informed yoga teacher, full spectrum doula and energy worker, I create stickers, totes, apparel and gifts that uplift and disrupt. A little sweary, a lot of what we are all thinking, and always made with love and intention.

Rolling into Balance: A Rolling, 5 Element Acupuncture & Yoga Nidra Workshop
Saturday, November 22 from 3:00pm-5:00pm
with Jamie Navarro & Carly Rice at PYP FOREST
Join us for a deeply rejuvenating 2-hour journey designed to harmonize body, mind, and energy through rolling, acupuncture, and guided Yoga Nidra. Inspired by the wisdom of the 5 Elements of Chinese Medicine, this workshop offers a potent blend of practices to support deep rest and energetic harmony.
What to Expect:
🔹 75 Minutes of Down-Regulating Rolling: Begin with guided self-massage using Yoga Tune Up® Therapy Balls to release fascial tension, down-regulate the nervous system, and awaken energetic pathways aligned with the 5 Elements. We will be rolling through each of the Acupuncture meridians.
🔹 Restorative Pose with Acupuncture: Transition into stillness as you're supported in a restorative posture while receiving a complete 25 minute Five-Element acupuncture treatment, made even more powerful from opening and rolling through the meridians before receiving acupuncture. Each point is chosen to invite inner balance and energetic alignment.
🔹 Closing Yoga Nidra: Complete your journey with a guided Yoga Nidra meditation to integrate the experience, deepen rest, and cultivate inner spaciousness. This workshop is ideal for anyone seeking nervous system regulation, emotional balance, and energetic harmony. No prior experience is necessary — just come as you are.
Space is limited. Pre-registration is recommended.

Breath Core & Pelvic Floor: Connect To Your Deep Center
Saturday, November 15 from 1:30pm-3:00pm
with Dr. Jenn Gelfand at PYP DOWNTOWN
During your exercise classes, do you hear “engage your pelvic floor” and wonder what that really means? Do you find yourself asking “what is the pelvic floor?” and “why does it matter?” Have you been told to “just do your kegels” but feel unsure where to start — or if kegels are even the right solution for you? Maybe you’ve experienced leaking, urgency, or core instability. Or perhaps you’re pregnant or postpartum and curious about how to participate in your favorite movement classes while optimizing your pelvic health. If so, this workshop is for you.
In this 90-minute class, you’ll explore the anatomy and function of your deep core and pelvic floor, discover why your breath matters, and learn how these systems work together to support strength, balance, and ease. You’ll be guided through breath awareness, gentle core activation, and yoga-based movement practices designed to integrate pelvic health into daily life and the classes you already enjoy.
The workshop will close with restorative postures and guided relaxation, giving you space to connect inward and release. You’ll leave with a handout of cues, simple home practices, and resources for continued pelvic health support. This class is open to all bodies and levels — whether you’re seeking healing, curious about your core, or looking to enhance your practice with deeper awareness.
All workshops/events are non-refundable/transferrable.

Yin and Restorative Yoga for Perimenopause
Saturdays, November 1, 8, 15 from 3:00pm-4:30pm
with Meredith McCarroll at PYP FOREST
As hormonal shifts heighten, causing uncomfortable symptoms (trouble sleeping, digestive problems, temperature dysregulation, mind fog), our bodies may also be experiencing a degeneration in our joints and age-related muscle loss.
The practice of yin yoga puts productive stress on joints and muscles while targeting the liver and thyroid meridians to flush out toxins and work toward hormonal balance. The restorative poses incorporated into the perimenopause practice help regulate your nervous system.
Drop-in for a single class or sign up for the entire series.
All workshops/events are non-refundable/transferrable.

Honey Flow: Vinyasa, Pranayama + Restorative
Saturday, October 25 from 2pm-4pm
with Mel Walbridge at PYP DOWNTOWN
Join me for a 2-hour yoga class that blends dynamic movement and pranayama with deep rest. Expect thoughtful sequencing that encourages presence, smooth and intentional movement, and physical challenge adapted to your level.
Pranayama (breathwork) will be woven throughout the practice, supporting focus, regulation, and a deeper connection to the body. The final portion of the class will invite you into long-held, restorative shapes — using props to fully support the body and allow for relaxation and integration.
This class is open to all levels, with options offered throughout. Come prepared to move, breathe, and rest deeply.

Action Event: Know Your Rights with the ACLU of Maine
Sunday, October 19 from 1:30pm-3:00pm
with ACLU of Maine & Victoria Rutledge
After our first event in early September, we are once again teaming up with Heather Zimmerman from the ACLU of Maine to continue our Know Your Rights education! Last time, we learned a lot about the different local and federal law enforcement agencies, and how local/state police are collaborating with federal agencies to arrest and detain folks. With the recent U.S. Supreme Court decision (Noem v. Vasquez-Perdomo) that allows racial profiling by ICE, it's more important than ever to make sure that we are equipped with the tools we need to protect ourselves and each other.
In this session we will briefly review what we learned in our first meeting, and then do a series of role playing to give us an embodied experience of different police interactions. This time, we are holding space for some Q&A, so that we are sure you have your questions heard and answered. Show up as you are, with curiosity, care, and a collectivist spirit.
