Yoga for Osteoporosis: A Functional Strength & Movement Approach

  • The Portland Yoga Project 449 Forest Avenue Portland United States (map)

Saturday, June 6, 2026 from 1:30pm-3:30pm

with Dr. Jenn Gelfand at PYP FOREST

Osteoporosis and low bone density don’t mean you have to stop moving—but they do call for a more intentional and supportive approach. This 90-minute workshop offers an informed, empowering way to practice yoga while supporting bone health, strength, balance, and confidence. Led by Dr. Jennifer Gelfand, Doctor of Physical Therapy, yoga & barre instructor, and Owner of Root to Rise Physical Therapy & Pelvic Health, this workshop blends evidence-based physical therapy principles with yoga and functional strength. You’ll learn how bones respond to load, which movements support bone health, and how to adapt yoga to reduce fracture risk while building resilience. This workshop is appropriate for those with osteoporosis or osteopenia, and no prior yoga experience is required.
