The position of Studio Assistant for the PYP 300hr YTT is integral to the overall experience of the group, the facilitators, and the community at large. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Arriving 30 minutes before the start of each day
Staying 30 minutes after the close of each day
Managing traffic flow as YTT students arrive in the midst of other PYP classes and events
Tracking absences of YTT participants
Keeping the training space clean, tidy, and well maintained
Making sure that the training space is supplied with adequate props while working with other teachers and classes that are happening simultaneously
Supporting the overall use of space (emptying trash during breaks, making sure bathrooms are well stocked and that common space is tidy before and after lunch, keeping the water cooler filled)
Supporting communications between staff and students as necessary
Helping to assemble manuals and pass out materials throughout the training
A YTT Studio Assistant must be able to commit to every weekend of the training. In the event of an emergency, the SA is expected to communicate with facilitators as far in advance as possible.
Tuition for the SA position is $2,100 (50% of the standard price). A $500 deposit is required in order to secure this position. The remaining balance of $1,600 is due by the start of the training and is not eligible for a refund in the event that the SA must leave the training.
The opportunity for a 40-class pass or discounted membership applies to the SA unless they are also working a non YTT desk shift, or are already a PYP teacher, in which case your free membership will still be applied. If a teacher or desk staff member has conflicts with an already scheduled class/shift they are responsible to either switch their shift or find subs for their shift/class on training weekends.
First priority for filling this position will go to PYP teachers, who have a July 1 deadline to apply. Other PYP staff are eligible to inquire following July 1.
